Bourlet

For more than 200 years, Bourlet has been providing unparalleled expertise to art collectors, institutions and museums - helping them choose the perfect frame to adorn their works of art. Set in the picturesque atelier on Connaught Street, Bourlet has been trading in the village since 1989 and is run by Gabrielle Rendell.

Along with her skilled staff, Gabrielle has an eye for the perfect frame that will complement that new art acquisition. All bespoke frames are carved and gilded in the store and such is the expertise that Bourlet has even caught the eye of The Vatican who sought the talented frame makers' skills when seeking to frame a new picture of Pope Benedict XVI, by artist Michael Noakes.

A visit to the store is akin to walking into Geppetto's workshop with a certain sense of mystique surrounding the many beautifully carved examples hanging on the walls and resting on the floor, with each frame having the ability to bring the work of art it sits around to life. Bourlet's frames range anywhere from £30 upwards. (One recent commission has sold at £21,000!) Advice is always at hand to turn paintings into true masterpieces.
